About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the lifecycle of client records, including creation, retention, storage, retrieval, and final disposition
- Organize and process client files for destruction or return in accordance with client instructions and retention processes
- Handle client and administrative files for departing lawyers following firm procedures
- Process file transfers and coordinate with offsite storage providers
- Utilize records management software systems and follow established protocols
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive materials
- Provide guidance to attorneys and staff regarding records management best practices
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to lift, carry, reach, stoop, or bend to move files and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high-quality spelling and grammar
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree
- Experience working in a professional services office or legal support environment
