About the role

Responsibilities

  • Appraise, acquire, accession, arrange, describe, and preserve archival records of archival value
  • Focus on advancing the University’s Bicentennial programming through processing and describing related records
  • Support Bicentennial-related research inquiries and prepare materials for exhibitions and publications
  • Implement plans and process improvements for archival activities
  • Meet with potential donors to assess materials and reach donation agreements
  • Perform original descriptive cataloguing of resources and archival materials
  • Respond to research enquiries and promote archival programs and service offerings
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable copyright, access, and privacy laws

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Archival Studies, Library or Information, or an equivalent combination of experience
  • 6-7 years of experience working in a library or archives environment
  • Deep knowledge of archival standards and best practices
  • Experience working with both current and non-current archival and special collections
  • Demonstrated experience preserving special media in both analog and digital formats
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of inclusivity, diversity, anti-racism, equity, and accessibility
