About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex clerical, technical, and accounting activities for the Recording Division of the Auditor’s Office
  • Review and process legal documents to ensure compliance with Washington State recording laws and federal regulations
  • Assist the public with researching information, resolving complex issues, and navigating recording and filing procedures
  • Process applications and payments for passports, marriage licenses, and various professional licenses
  • Serve as a Certified Acceptance Agent for the Seattle Passport Agency, maintaining current knowledge of issuance rules
  • Operate cash drawers, balance daily revenues, and prepare financial reports
  • Index and scan document images into the online county system
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and reports while ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive information

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • High level of computer proficiency and ability to learn new software systems
  • Ability to become a Certified Acceptance Agent by the U.S. State Department
