About the role
Responsibilities
- Support real-time power traders by managing hourly scheduling, data analytics, and trade entries in North American electric power markets
- Procure hourly transmission reservations and upload power market bids, offers, and schedules to appropriate ISOs
- Analyze complex datasets to provide actionable commercial insights and assist in decision-making
- Reconcile customer and company trade activity with invoices and trade capture systems to ensure accurate P&L reporting
- Develop and improve data handling, report generation, and IT processes using Azure frameworks
- Maintain strong working relationships with trading business users, IT partners, and external vendors
- Provide real-time support to resolve operational issues quickly in a high-pressure environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- 2 or more years of professional work experience
- Availability to work continuous 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for up to 7 days in a row
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with time-sensitive deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to make quick, well-reasoned decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Technical Field
- Proficiency in programming or data analysis languages such as VBA, SQL, C, R, or Python
