Ready Mix Quality Control Technician

Responsibilities

• Safely collect samples for testing aggregates, concrete, and asphalt materials
• Perform sampling, testing, and reporting procedures according to established protocols
• Record test results accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform calculations, provide documentation, and communicate data to supervisors
• Maintain daily records of test results and prepare daily reports
• Advise supervisors of unusual test results or results that do not meet specifications
• Verify outside construction materials testing laboratory results
• Use Lastrada software for aggregate and asphalt division lab management

Requirements

• Three years of laboratory testing experience in ready-mix concrete and construction aggregate properties
• One year of asphalt testing experience
• Knowledge of ready-mix and asphalt manufacturing design, processes, and equipment
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
• Proficiency with personal computers and software packages
• Ability to work independently, plan and organize, and work under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree
• TXDOT level 1A HMA and AGG 101 certification or other DOT equivalent (e.g., TTCP Asphalt or Aggregate certifications)
