Reading Instructor

Responsibilities

• Perform professional level instruction for GED preparation, TABE reading/math, and high school diploma programs
• Instruct social skills, employability skills, and applied academics
• Manage classroom environment and discipline to ensure effective learning
• Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress evaluations
• Develop and maintain relevant lesson plans
• Monitor student achievements and provide necessary accommodations
• Participate in weekly center team and departmental meetings
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university
• State teaching certification (or ability to pursue certification)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and professional journals
• Strong written communication skills for reports and correspondence
• Ability to present information effectively to students and managers
• Mathematical competency including probability, statistics, and proportions
