About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a teaching assistant and support instructor-led academic programming
- Lead electives, recreational activities, and enrichment programming
- Support camp administration and daily operations
- Serve as a positive role model for REACH students
- Provide guidance and supervision to individual students and student groups
- Foster student engagement through positive encouragement and motivation
Requirements
- High school junior (Class of 2027) or senior (Class of 2026) status
- Strong high school academic record
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and professionalism
- Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and peers
- Ability to relate effectively to middle school-aged students
- Commitment to work the entire 6-week summer session
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with middle school-aged students
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Specific skills, talents, or interests that can enrich student programming
Benefits
- Weekly compensation of $325.00
- $100.00 bonus for returning counselors
- Professional development and college readiness sessions
- Room and board provided at no cost for the overnight session (Fordham University or University of Scranton)
- Round-trip transportation provided for the overnight session
