R&D Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate and support pilot-scale manufacturing and equipment for HTS wire development
• Assist with setup, monitoring, and shutdown of R&D and process equipment
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
• Document process observations, deviations, and troubleshooting findings
• Support quality control and characterization equipment operations
• Assist with sample preparation and measurement collection
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to support program objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field
• 2 years of experience in manufacturing, laboratory, pilot production, or R&D environments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and manually transport up to 75 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with vacuum systems or semiconductor manufacturing
• Experience with thin film manufacturing, vapor deposition, or lamination
• Familiarity with SPC, 6-sigma, or metrology
• Experience supporting pilot-scale manufacturing programs
• Mechanical, fabrication, or electrical experience
