R&D Technician

Responsibilities

• Support R&D Engineering activities including specification, procurement, installation, and validation of new equipment and molding processes.
• Assist in the design and procurement of new equipment and support process development, characterization, and optimization.
• Execute validation document generation, including risk assessments and commissioning/validation documents.
• Maintain R&D Engineering equipment, including molding, curing, metrology, cleaning, and packaging systems.
• Perform molding machine set-ups, tooling changes, and preventative maintenance.
• Liaise with external suppliers and contractors to coordinate onsite activities and obtain quotations.
• Provide first-response technical support for R&D Engineering processes and utilities equipment.
• Investigate and document process issues, reporting findings and solutions to the Engineering team.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Systems, Health & Safety, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Level 7 Engineering or Technical qualification.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technical role within the Medical Device industry.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment.
• Knowledge of ISO, FDA, and GMP standards.
• Technical competence in operating and repairing highly automated equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on own initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ or more years of experience in the Medical Device industry.
• Familiarity with robotics, PLCs, and vision systems.
• Experience using Veeva, Maximo, and Teamcenter.
• Understanding of networks and basic troubleshooting skills.
