R&D Sustaining Engineering Working Student

Responsibilities

• Support obsolescence management within the medical technology sector
• Identify and evaluate alternatives for discontinued electronic components
• Compare and analyze electronic components regarding function, availability, and specifications
• Conduct market and supplier research for component availability
• Perform practical tasks on assemblies, including component replacement and soldering
• Execute and document functional and verification tests on medical devices (e.g., ECMO systems)
• Assist in creating technical documentation for product changes
• Support programming and automation tasks using Python or VBA to optimize workflows

Requirements

• Currently enrolled student in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical Technology, or a comparable field
• Strong interest in electronic components and PCB design
• Practical experience in soldering electronic components (SMD and THT)
• Analytical mindset and strong technical understanding
• Basic programming knowledge (Python, VBA, or similar) is highly desirable
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Reliable, independent, and detail-oriented working style
• Very good proficiency in German or English
