R&D Research Associate

Responsibilities

• Perform biotechnology experiments and document research data in compliance with GLPs and SOPs
• Plan and execute plant protein research from bench-scale to pilot-scale development
• Develop novel extraction techniques for plant proteins
• Collaborate with product development, process engineering, and analytics teams to ensure timely deliverables
• Coordinate with senior scientists to generate innovative methods for protein isolation and characterization
• Operate laboratory equipment to characterize the functionality and properties of various plant protein sources
• Perform data visualization and statistical analysis of experimental results to communicate findings to the business unit

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or chemical engineering
• OR a Master's degree in a related field with 1+ years of experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced lab environment and meet strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in the biotech or food tech industry
• Knowledge of protein chemistry, extraction techniques, and proximate characterization
• Understanding of QA/QC, microbial safety, and sensory properties of food products
• Experience with analytical methods such as rheology, texture analysis, particle size, or SDS-PAGE
• Familiarity with data visualization software like Power BI or LIMS
