R&D Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define product specifications, features, and functionalities while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards
• Develop product designs in accordance with Product Standards such as IEC61439 & UL857
• Perform 3D modelling and 2D drafting of product designs
• Work closely with external suppliers and partners to source components and materials
• Build prototypes to support the development of product design
• Coordinate testing for development and certification
• Conduct Product Risk Assessment through DFMEA
• Follow the Engineering change process for existing products

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, design technology, or equivalent
• Proficiency in 3D modelling using SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA or equivalent
• Experience with 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and GD&T
• Proficiency in product lifecycle management (PLM) software
• 2+ years of experience in R&D Design within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Experience designing mild steel sheet welded assemblies and extruded/injection molded plastic parts
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and DFE
• Knowledge of Process flow, PFMEA, Control plan, and SOP preparation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in UL857 or busbar products design, test, and validation
• Experience with power distribution applications or the data center industry
• Proficiency with Smartsheet and Microsoft Office suite
