R&D Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D-driven initiatives to improve quality, lower costs, and optimize production line efficiency
• Coach a team of food technologists and senior scientists to achieve developmental and technical goals
• Troubleshoot real-time production issues on the factory floor using a scientific approach
• Collaborate with FSQA, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure product quality and equipment commissioning standards
• Manage technical specifications including formulations, procedures, and visual standards
• Foster technical relationships with ingredient and equipment suppliers

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Food Science or a related scientific discipline
• 8+ years of R&D experience in CPG
• 2+ years of experience in an R&D leadership role
• Experience leading technical, cost savings, and quality improvement initiatives in food manufacturing
• Proficiency in Excel or Minitab for data analysis
• Ability to travel regularly to manufacturing sites in the Toronto/Vaughan area

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
• Master's degree in Business, Leadership, or Entrepreneurship
