R&D Logistics & Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for domestic, export, and import logistics within Veterinary Medicine R&D.
• Ensure strict compliance with government regulations regarding import, export, and domestic shipments, specifically for Hazardous and Radioactive Materials.
• Maintain the chain of custody for biological specimens and provide compliant materials management support between sites.
• Prepare export shipping documentation and coordinate with couriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Provide detailed instructions to exporters to ensure safe transportation and expedited customs clearance.
• Maintain accurate records of all Hazardous Material shipments for auditing by the DOT, FAA, and NRC.
• Support operational functions including supply inventory and invoice management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
• 2-3 years of experience in a research and development transportation, distribution, or logistics environment.
• IATA Training.
• 49 CFR Parts 100-185 U.S. DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations Training.
• 49 CFR Parts 173.401-173.477 U.S. DOT Transportation of Radioactive Materials Training.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and customer service orientation.
