R&D Lead/Software Architect

Responsibilities

• Design, define, and implement high-level software architectures spanning firmware, embedded systems, and server-side software for datacenter-grade hardware.
• Lead the research and development phase of new software products from concept to prototype to secure proprietary Intellectual Property (IP).
• Coordinate local R&D roadmaps with the overseas corporate technology team to translate global requirements into actionable development pipelines.
• Establish strict coding standards, conduct architectural reviews, and champion engineering best practices.
• Assist in preparing the software engineering division for the Batam facility launch and mentor local engineering talent.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record in firmware, embedded systems, or enterprise server software.
• Exceptional professional English skills (written and verbal) for liaising with international stakeholders.
• Valid passport and readiness for overseas business travel and technical training.
• Experience with proprietary software development and managing technical IP documentation.
• Mandatory commitment to a permanent, on-site role in Batam, Indonesia.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within enterprise hardware, datacenter technology, or cloud infrastructure sectors.
• Familiarity with cross-border team collaboration, particularly between Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
• Understanding of manufacturing-adjacent software systems or hardware-software integration testing.
