R&D Extrusion Technician

Responsibilities

• Set up extrusion equipment according to product specifications, including die heads, sizing sleeves, and tooling
• Operate single-screw R&D extrusion lines, managing startup, steady operation, and shutdown processes
• Adjust extruder parameters such as temperatures, speeds, pressures, and cooling systems to maintain quality
• Diagnose and correct technical issues including die buildup, material contamination, or equipment malfunctions
• Inspect extruded products for dimensions and structural consistency using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Record test results and maintain accurate technical documentation and written reports
• Perform disassembly and cleaning of all extrusion equipment
• Operate forklifts and maintain high standards of housekeeping

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and communicating)
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to complete technical documentation and written reports

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of extrusion experience
• Experience working with polymers, plastics, or resins
