R&D Engineer/Scientist I

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and optimize RF and microwave components, antennas, antenna arrays, and feed networks.
• Create and validate full-wave electromagnetic models in ANSYS HFSS, including geometry definition and parametric sweeps.
• Use AWR Microwave Office for RF circuit design, matching-network development, and S-parameter analysis.
• Develop MATLAB and Python scripts for engineering calculations, simulation automation, and radar performance analysis.
• Analyze antenna and microwave performance using parameters such as return loss, VSWR, gain, efficiency, and radiation patterns.
• Support radar-system studies involving link budgets, waveform analysis, and beamforming.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RF, mechanical, and embedded-software engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, RF/Microwave Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Practical experience with ANSYS HFSS for electromagnetic modeling and simulation.
• Practical experience with AWR Microwave Office for RF and microwave circuit design.
• Working proficiency in MATLAB and Python for numerical analysis and automation.
• Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, transmission lines, Smith charts, and antenna concepts.
• Ability to interpret simulation results and communicate technical findings clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to phased arrays, beamforming, MIMO antennas, or FMCW radar.
• Knowledge of RF system budgets, noise figure, linearity, and electromagnetic compatibility.
• Experience in simulation optimization, scripting, and version control.
