R&D Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, development, testing, and manufacture of innovative products
• Formulate and own new approaches to solve technical problems
• Lead test method development and validation
• Identify and develop innovative design and process solutions for the automotive industry
• Develop detailed project plans including design control, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Lead risk management activity for assigned product development areas
• Lead the design transfer of products from development stage to manufacture
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with suppliers for component development and tooling
• Contribute to intellectual property generation and patent support

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant subject matter
• Experience in plastics production or assembly environments linked to automotive
• Proficiency in technical writing and developing test protocols
• Ability to analyze complex data to deliver design recommendations
• Computer proficiency in Windows Office, CAD, and drawing programs
• Knowledge of injection moulding and tooling
• Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Pro Link
• Membership of an appropriate industry-related professional body
• Awareness of continuous improvement methodologies
