About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical staff and drive R&D development projects from ideation to market implementation of new colorant formulations.
  • Lead multiple industrial colorant portfolios across key business segments including automotive, aerospace, and industrial wood.
  • Oversee existing product portfolios regarding quality, regulatory compliance, cost savings, and supply chain initiatives.
  • Proactively scout and identify new technology, product, and process opportunities while monitoring the competitive landscape.
  • Support the growth and career development of chemists, scientists, and lab technicians.
  • Ensure lab practices comply with internal standards and external HSE regulations.
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver on sustainable ingredients and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field.
  • 5+ years of supervisory or people leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of product development or formulation experience, preferably in colorant dispersions or pigment development.
  • Strong knowledge of coating formulation, processing, and material science.
  • Proven experience in project management with a track record of completing complex projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
  • Stage-gate leadership experience within New Product Development (NPD).
  • Experience taking products from initial idea through prototyping, testing, and manufacturing to launch.
  • Strong skills in developing both professional and non-professional level reports.
