About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead design and planning for underground tunnel construction projects
- Direct construction processes using TBM or SEM techniques
- Monitor construction for safety and regulatory compliance
- Perform geotechnical evaluations and design tunnel structures including linings and ventilation
- Manage project timelines, financial estimates, and budgets
- Ensure structural integrity through expertise in rebar schedules and RC frames
- Coordinate between contractors, clients, and engineering disciplines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
- Mandatory SMSTS certification
- Valid CSCS Card
- Minimum 3 years of experience in underground environments
- Experience with Earth Pressure Balance Tunnel Boring Machines
- Documented experience as a Person in Charge (PIC) on significant projects
Preferred Qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely in Construction certification
