Rapid Prototyping Leader

Responsibilities

• Take vague ideas, scribbles, or detailed drawings and turn them into real, working prototypes
• Choose the right method, machine, and material for prototyping needs
• Operate and maintain 3D printers (FDM/SLA), CNCs, mills, lathes, and other shop equipment
• Lead and mentor a small team of hands-on engineers and technicians
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and manufacturing leaders
• Manage shop operations including budgets, safety, uptime, and materials
• Create first articles, jigs, fixtures, test rigs, and concept models

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building physical products (aerospace, robotics, consumer products, etc.)
• Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion, Rhino, etc.) and CAM
• Deep understanding of materials and fabrication methods including metals, plastics, and composites
• Experience leading teams or laboratory environments
• Ability to work with limited inputs and high ambiguity
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status due to export control laws
