About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain RAMS plans, strategies, and lifecycle deliverables in alignment with project and regulatory requirements.
- Perform RAM analyses, including FMECA/FMEA, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs), availability, maintainability, and failure-rate analysis.
- Review system and subsystem designs for RAMS implications, compliance, and alignment with performance requirements.
- Support RAMS requirements allocation, interface management, and verification activities across system architectures.
- Contribute RAM-related inputs to Engineering Safety Cases, assurance reports, and lifecycle documentation.
- Conduct independent peer reviews of reliability and maintainability analyses to verify design assumptions.
- Support the definition of maintenance and Line-Replaceable Unit (LRU) strategies to optimize lifecycle costs.
- Perform RAMS and risk analyses aligned with frameworks such as EN 50126, Canadian Method of Risk Evaluation, and MIL-STD-882.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Systems Engineering, Systems Assurance, or RAMS environment.
- Proficiency with reliability analysis tools such as Isograph, ReliaSoft, Item Toolkit, or PTC Windchill.
- Strong technical written and oral communication skills for collaboration with clients and contractors.
- Ability to work onsite in Oakville, ON, with travel to other project sites in Canada and the US.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- P.Eng. designation in Ontario or British Columbia (or PE in US states).
- Experience with rail transit and familiarity with CENELEC standards (BS EN 50126, 50128, 50129).
- Experience with Systems Engineering lifecycle tools such as DOORS.
- Experience working with AI agents and tools.
