Railroad Crossing Technician

Responsibilities

• Fill spray trucks with water and chemical mixtures
• Perform weed eating and chainsaw work along railroad crossings
• Pull, roll up, and manage 300–500 feet of hose multiple times daily
• Spray 8–10 railroad crossings per day according to contract specifications
• Safely drive and operate spray trucks between job sites
• Call MTM for daily job briefings and complete end-of-day paperwork
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license with at least 5 years of clean driving history
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check
• Willingness to travel 1–3 weeks at a time with weekend home time
• Flexible availability for Monday–Friday shifts, plus occasional nights or weekends
• Compliance with company drug and alcohol policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Hi-Rail or vegetation spray industry experience
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License (or willingness to earn one after hire)
