Railroad Crossing Technician

Responsibilities

• Fill trucks with water/chemical mix and spray 8–10 railroad crossings daily
• Perform minor weed eating with an industrial weed eater and chainsaw work (~25% of each day)
• Pull and roll up 300–500 feet of hose up to 32 times per day
• Safely drive and operate spray trucks between crossings
• Call MTM for daily job briefings and complete required end-of-day paperwork
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 21+ years of age
• Valid driver’s license with at least 5 years of clean driving history
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check
• Ability to travel away from home for 4–6 weeks at a time
• Flexible schedule with availability for weekend or night work as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Hi-Rail or vegetation spray industry experience
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License (or willingness to earn one after hire)
