Rail Signals Maintainer

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain and improve grade crossing warning, AEI, or defect detector systems
• Load and unload tools and equipment to and from various vehicles and machines
• Comply with CROR standards around signaling and Hours-of-Service Law
• Collaborate with local railroad customers, suppliers and stakeholders
• Conduct site and ground clearing for site access
• Dig holes and trenches for cables, conduit and ducts
• Install and level foundations
• Respond to dispatch and Trouble Calls via on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Rail Signals & Communications
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Knowledge of basic electronics and electrical fundamentals (low-voltage AC/DC, relay or ladder logic)
• Ability to read wiring diagrams
• Proficiency with testing equipment such as multi-meter, megger and short finder
• Valid Class G Driver’s License
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and climb ladders
• Ability to work outside in variable weather conditions
• Proficiency in MS Office software
