About the role
Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor loaded railcars from origin to destination and manage empty returns
- Identify, escalate, and resolve logistics exceptions and delays
- Utilize cloud-based tracking systems to monitor railcar movement and provide stakeholder updates
- Communicate with railroads via phone and email to troubleshoot issues and log delays
- Ensure railcars follow correct routes and arrive at destinations on schedule
- Maintain understanding of bill of lading, way billing, and railroad terminology
- Present information and updates to both internal and external business partners
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in rail operations or logistics coordination
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple competing priorities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field
