Responsibilities
- Performs screening mammography exams including positioning, compression, and equipment adjustment
- Obtains and reviews medical histories and addresses patient concerns
- Analyzes images for quality and identifies abnormalities
- Collaborates with radiologists to provide accurate interpretations and reports
- Practices ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure
- Maintains accurate patient records and adheres to regulatory guidelines
- Performs daily quality control on mammography equipment and maintains QC logs
- Ensures cleanliness and safety of the procedure room following infection control protocols
Requirements
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved radiologic technology program
- Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) registration in good standing
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- 2+ years of dedicated experience in Mammography and DEXA
- Current California CRT certificate in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
- Valid California Mammography Technologist Certificate
- Ability to maintain 24 Category A CE credits every two years
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Bone Densitometry (BD)
