Responsibilities

• Create and present distinctive, engaging news content across radio and digital platforms for the Northern Tasmania Drive show.
• Generate original story ideas that reflect the cultural, geographic, and socio-economic diversity of Northern Tasmania and Australia.
• Actively engage with local communities to identify and tell relevant stories.
• Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to grow audience reach and engagement.
• Create local content suitable for sharing across ABC content teams and cross-promote content to enhance impact.

Requirements

• Demonstrated program making and presentation experience, creating original audio and cross-platform content.
• Strong editorial skills, including the ability to source, analyse, and shape stories with sound judgement.
• Proven ability to build and maintain contacts across diverse communities.
• An instinctive understanding of the news and a dedication to being a team player.
