Radio Infrastructure Software Test Specialist

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans for P25 (Phase 1 & 2) infrastructure, including trunking controllers, base stations, and multisite gateways.
• Perform deep-packet analysis of LMR-specific interfaces such as ISSI and CSSI to ensure seamless roaming and dispatch.
• Conduct high-availability and redundancy testing to verify system resilience to failures.
• Validate end-to-end encryption (AES-256) and OTAR (Over-the-Air Rekeying) software workflows.
• Utilize Python, Perl, or Linux Shell Scripting for test automation and log parsing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications.
• 2–4 years of experience in a software QA/Testing environment.
• Proficiency in Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server command-line environments.
• Strong networking knowledge including IPv4/IPv6, Subnetting, VLANs, and Multicast.
• Proficiency with Wireshark for capturing and analyzing IP-based traffic.
• Experience with OS virtualization tools such as VMware or VirtualBox.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience programming or troubleshooting Cisco and Juniper networks.
• Basic technical working knowledge of LMR radio systems (P25 Phase I and II).
• Familiarity with ISSI, CSSI, radio terminal programming, and RF methodologies.
