Responsibilities

• Ownership of radiation shielding design and analysis
• Development of trade studies for material choices
• Development of neutronics simulations to characterize radiation sources
• Optimization of radiation shielding for deployment and post-operation transportation
• Engagement in regulatory requirement compliance strategies and licensing pathways
• Ensuring tools and analyses comply with the Antares quality assurance program

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or material science
• 3+ years of experience with radiation shielding analysis and design
• Proficiency in MCNP/ADVANTG, SCALE/MAVRIC, or similar Monte Carlo tools
• Ability to navigate regulatory requirements and manufacturing methods
• Ability to travel to regulatory locations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in nuclear engineering
• Broad knowledge of nuclear interactions with material selections
• Working knowledge of Python
• Strong project management and technical communication skills
