About the role

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the two-year Mentored Faculty Physician Scientist Program in Radiation Oncology (MFPSP-RO)
  • Develop and execute a research project focused on the development or improvement of cancer radiotherapy
  • Conduct oncology and/or radiation biology research using state-of-the-art facilities
  • Dedicate up to 20% of effort to clinical practice within the outpatient Radiation Oncology Clinic
  • Collaborate with faculty mentors to apply for external research funding during the first year
  • Engage with a network of shared resource laboratories for experimental design and statistical analysis

Requirements

  • MD or MD/PhD degree
  • Demonstrated clinical competency
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Washington State Medical License
  • Successful completion of a background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in cancer research relevant to radiation oncology and therapy modulation
  • Experience in translational research or radiobiology
