Radar Systems Senior Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise in radar signal processing algorithms, including Kalman filtering, probabilistic modeling, and pulsed-Doppler waveforms
• Design algorithms to process signal returns for target discrimination and tracking throughout the mission timeline
• Define system performance requirements and ensure interface definitions support seeker and missile architecture
• Conduct analysis to optimize system-of-systems performance and system architecture
• Analyze seeker simulation data to identify improvements and ensure system robustness in challenging environments
• Review and modify digital signal processing techniques for reradiated signal content
• Support the tactical implementation of algorithm designs into Ada or C++ software

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
• 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Huntsville, AL

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Digital Signal Processing, Radar, or Digital Communications algorithms
• Proficiency with MATLAB for data analysis, prototyping, and modeling/simulation
• Knowledge of linear signal theory, Fourier transforms, and communication theory
• Experience with RF, electrical transmission, and signal processing modeling
• System test experience including design and execution for hardware
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Ada, or Python in an Agile environment
• Experience in formal technical writing and technology readiness level (TRL) maturation
