R & D Test Technician

Responsibilities

• Support the R&D team with the preparation and operation of tests in a safe and timely manner
• Assist in the fabrication and preparation of testing samples and concepts
• Operate testing equipment in accordance with defined methodologies
• Maintain testing equipment and facilities within the state-of-the-art testing facility
• Manage task allocation and administrative duties for team personnel
• Enforce adherence to high-quality workmanship standards
• Ensure engineering tools are adequately maintained and materials/spares are correct

Requirements

• Matric qualification
• Millwright or Electrician qualification
• Proven experience in welding and fitting
• Proficiency in arc and gas cutting
• Experience with machine assembly and mechanical machinery
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electronic schematics
• Experience with soldering
• Literacy in MS Office Suite
• Strong English communication skills (oral, reading, and writing)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous team management experience
