R&D Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Use Electrical Engineering principles to develop test plans, execute tests, and evaluate electrical systems
• Support module and system electrical analysis and product support through qualification activities
• Implement multidisciplinary engineering approaches to research, design, and develop complex systems and technologies
• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and mitigate requirements, design, and manufacturing challenges
• Design, develop, and fabricate experiment hardware or test components to meet performance criteria
• Develop technical documentation including drawings, work instructions, reports, and test plans
• Support the analysis and interpretation of test data to recommend alternative solutions to technical obstacles
• Work within a fast-paced agile environment to support technical activities and program milestones

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred)
• Five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience
• Active DOE L or equivalent security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Engineering or a highly related field
• Experience working with Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) laboratories and plants
• Experience with engineering design, qualification, production, or modeling/simulation projects
• Expertise in electrical characterization of components and sub-system analysis
• Knowledge of technologies related to hazardous facility operations (e.g., pulsed power, radiation sciences, high power)
