About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and qualify highly integrated electro-mechanical telemetry products for national security applications
- Conduct full product environmental testing, including shock, vibration, temperature, pressure, and humidity
- Perform and analyze finite element analysis (FEA) simulations for stress, strain, modal, and thermal environments
- Utilize CREO and PDMLink to design and model telemetry hardware
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document system requirements and establish engineering priorities
- Manage fabrication processes and work with vendors to procure development parts
- Create and authorize product drawings using GD&T per ANSI Y14.5
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline
- At least five years of directly relevant engineering experience
- Active DOE L-level security clearance (or equivalent) to start, with the ability to obtain a DOE Q-level clearance
- Proficiency in CAD software (CREO preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with mechanical testing and data analysis
- Experience designing for manufacturing processes such as machined aluminum, sheet metal, and 3D printing (FDM)
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a highly related field
- Experience with product realization within the NNSA complex
- Demonstrated experience designing, testing, or fabricating aerospace hardware
- Experience developing test plans for validation or verification of requirement sets
- Previous experience in leadership or mentorship roles
