About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deliver data acquisition systems, control hardware, and software suites for fusion energy magnet and component testing.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, procure, and commission prototype engineering test stands.
- Design, document, and install industrial PLC equipment, harnessing, and cabinetry.
- Implement system safety features including interlocks and fault detection.
- Develop HMI/GUI software using visual software languages such as LabVIEW or Ignition.
- Analyze data with a focus on integrity, quality, and reliability to support critical company missions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in an integration or test engineering role working with physical lab or industrial equipment.
- 5+ years of experience designing, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics hardware and test software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform extended physical activities such as stooping or climbing.
- Willingness to travel or work nights, weekends, or on-call regularly.
- Ability to work in a facility containing industrial hazards including high voltage, strong magnets, and cryogenics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Beckhoff PLC hardware and software (TwinCAT) or LabVIEW automation.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Structured Text.
- Experience with high voltage electronics and specialized lab equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- Knowledge of control systems including PIDs, state machines, and real-time systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, NX) and electrical layout tools.
- Experience with high-power, cryogenic, vacuum, or superconducting technologies.
