R&D Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Research and Development, Technical Services, and Quality Management teams for the APAC region.
• Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including new product introduction, value engineering, and reformulation for cost or quality improvements.
• Oversee regulatory compliance across APAC, ensuring all products meet regional requirements and staying proactive regarding anticipated changes.
• Direct Technical Services to ensure accurate and timely delivery of analytical reports to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Manage Quality Control systems and processes, ensuring strict adherence to ISO standards and SHERQ policies to minimize non-conformances.

Requirements

• Degree in Organic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• Over 7 years of experience in R&D or product formulation.
• Industry experience in Pulp and Paper, Water Treatment, Leather, or Formulator sectors (Paints, Coatings, etc.).
• Proven track record in laboratory management and leading teams of chemists.
• Strong technical knowledge of analytical methods including HPLC, FTIR, AA, or ICP.
• Deep experience with ISO quality management systems.
• Familiarity with APAC regulatory requirements, chemical hazard classification, and compliance certifications (e.g., FDA, NSF, Halal, Kosher).
