About the role

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, prototype, and test new products for Gas Chromatograph, Automated Sample Handling, and Automated Sample Preparation systems
  • Collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment with electrical, firmware, chemical, and software engineers to create complete systems
  • Work closely with marketing, manufacturing, purchasing, and service organizations to transform designs into shipping products
  • Develop designs related to the control of motion, flow, heated zones, and intelligent robotic systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Proficiency in 3D solid modeling and drafting using CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, Solidworks, Inventor, or Creo)
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, including ferrous and nonferrous metal alloys and ceramics
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, interdisciplinary team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PDM/PLC/ERP systems such as Teamcenter, Agile, or SAP
  • Knowledge of joining techniques (bonding, brazing, welding) and post-fabrication treatments (cleaning, coating, plating)
  • Familiarity with sealing technologies for high pressure and vacuum applications
  • Experience with simulation tools such as FEA or CFD (e.g., ANSYS, Simcenter)
  • Proficiency in metrology, mechanical measurement, or GD&T
  • Experience with programming languages for experimental hardware control, such as Python, MATLAB, or LabView
