R&D Electrical Engineer - Component Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assurance for commercial electronic parts (CEPs) used in high-consequence, high-reliability systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and subject matter experts to ensure comprehensive testing and analysis
• Plan, support, and execute testing activities, including analyzing and documenting test data
• Document engineering and design decisions to preserve testing and associated analysis
• Perform failure analysis and provide SME expertise on assigned components
• Interface with product realization teams, suppliers, and quality engineers
• Support production acceptance activities and coordinate with commercial electronics manufacturers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance
• 5+ years of related engineering experience
• Experience with part selection, qualification, and testing
• Knowledge of semiconductor device physics

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field
• Demonstrated experience within a specific CEP commodity area (Passives, Discretes, or Integrated Circuits)
• Experience with test board layout, design, and conducting electrical tests
• Familiarity with military (MIL-SPEC) and industry (JEDEC) standards and test methods
• Proficiency with design and analysis tools such as JMP, Python, or MATLAB
• Knowledge of reliability assessment methods, including accelerated life testing and robustness validation
• Knowledge of radiation effects in microelectronics and semiconductor devices
