R&D Computer Scientist

Responsibilities

• Perform software and algorithm research and development to increase autonomy in orbital, aerial, and terrestrial sensors
• Conduct analysis of sensor data collections using advanced statistical and mathematical techniques
• Develop algorithms for real-time autonomous processing of live sensor streams in data center and edge environments
• Design and implement verification and validation routines for algorithms within operational frameworks
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance using GitLab CI/CD and other DevOps tools
• Implement and deploy high-potential software approaches in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance
• Proficiency in C++ and Python programming
• Experience with relational databases and version control systems
• Experience with automated software testing and software containerization

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or a highly related field
• Experience with DevSecOps best practices and CI/CD systems
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Apptainer
• Experience with GPU acceleration of algorithms
• Experience working on Unix systems and using Agile software development paradigms
• Strong technical writing and communication skills for journal publications or technical reports
