About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of quantum error correction protocols for the silicon spin QSoC technology platform
  • Design and modify error correcting codes, logical qubit schemes, and decoding algorithms for large scale silicon spin qubit arrays
  • Specify minimal physical qubit requirements to achieve breakeven and guide future qubit topology
  • Conduct R&D to improve fault-tolerant quantum computing system efficiency
  • Simulate using noise models, QEC codes, and fault-tolerant computations
  • Collaborate with Algorithms and Theory teams to develop new codes and implement algorithms
  • Develop technical documentation, design specifications, and test plans
  • Disseminate research results through internal seminars and international publications

Requirements

  • PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Math, Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant research experience in quantum error correction
  • Comprehensive understanding of fault-tolerant quantum computing, decoding, logical gate design, and lattice surgery
  • Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages
  • Proven track record of achievements such as publications, preprints, or public code
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering and software teams
