About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong commercial control of term contractors to manage costs and performance against contract targets.
  • Control external contract expenditure through scope control, change management, and financial verification processes.
  • Audit contract administration and delivery functions to ensure business compliance with established processes.
  • Measure supplier performance against KPIs and prepare associated reports to implement improvements.
  • Provide contract benchmarks, cost data, budget forecasts, and performance data for business improvement.
  • Manage contractual relationships and resolve disputes by interfacing directly with senior contractor staff.
  • Develop project scopes, identify risks, and prepare budgets and Risk Registers for Target Cost works.
  • Represent the Energy Networks during negotiation meetings regarding Target Price and risk allocation.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to provide strong commercial leadership within an energy or infrastructure environment.
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills to solve complex problems and manage budgets.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to build rapport with internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency in report writing and the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong negotiation skills, specifically regarding Target Price and risk allocation.
  • Ability to mitigate commercial risk through the development and use of Risk Registers.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and financial control procedures.
  • Experience with framework, partnership, and term/service level agreement contracts.
