About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide fair valuation and independent risk assessment for crude, refined products, and freight transactions.
  • Support traders and originators with structure design, including blending optimization, assay-based valuation, and pricing indexation.
  • Build valuation templates and analytics tools for modeling crude/products arbitrage, refinery yield optimization, and freight optimization.
  • Advise on hedging strategies for complex exposures across crude benchmarks, refined products, and freight markets.
  • Conduct back testing, assumption validation, and parameter research, including calibration of illiquid forward curves and volatility structures.
  • Collaborate with quant modeling and technology teams to ensure robust model deployment and integration into Front Office tools.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in a quantitative field.
  • Experience in Front Office commodities valuation, specifically within crude, products, or freight.
  • Advanced Python skills for pricing tools, optimization routines, and scalable portfolio analytics.
  • Expertise in option pricing and curve/volatility modeling.
  • Strong understanding of global oil markets, including crude benchmarks (Brent, WTI, Dubai) and refinery operations.
  • Ability to communicate complex valuation and logistics concepts clearly to commercial teams.
