About the role
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain multi-year forecasting models to estimate customer engagement outcomes such as outstanding balances, spend, and revolving behavior.
- Develop and validate step-up factor methodologies to project Year 2 and Year 3 results using historical vintages and segmentation.
- Design and apply control group approaches, including holdouts and matched pairs, to isolate the incremental impacts of credit strategies.
- Partner with Finance and Risk teams to align methodologies, reconcile assumptions, and ensure consistency between risk forecasts and financial planning.
- Perform ongoing performance monitoring by comparing forecasts to actual outcomes and tracking accuracy using standardized error metrics.
- Maintain robust model governance, including comprehensive documentation, version control, and audit readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 4+ years of experience in credit risk analytics, multi-year financial forecasting, or model development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and output presentation.
- Strong expertise in statistical and financial modeling, including time-series analysis and segmentation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with SAS and/or SQL for extracting and transforming large datasets.
- Solid understanding of revolving behavior, sales activity, and NPV/P&L frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the credit card, lending, or banking industries.
- Proficiency with Python, Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks, or Essbase.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Knowledge of matched-pair or propensity score matching methodologies.
- Familiarity with credit line management strategies and their impact on portfolio profitability.
