Quality Sr Engineer (APQP)

Responsibilities

• Support the New Product Development process to minimize product failure risks through continuous improvement and data analysis
• Partner with Design and Project Engineering to develop new eyewear models that meet quality and timeline requirements
• Provide actionable feedback to Design Engineering regarding manufacturing process risk assessments
• Lead product failure analysis using systematic root cause analysis, problem-solving techniques, and designed experiments
• Drive the usage of risk reduction tools such as FMEA and prototype testing at key project checkpoints
• Guide and mentor other APQP Engineers in quality tool usage and risk analysis
• Lead and present updates on DMAIC projects for process or product improvements
• Own and report on yield-related KPIs using Excel and Minitab

Requirements

• BS Degree in an engineering field
• 5+ years of experience in an Engineering field (Quality, Design, or Manufacturing)
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with MS Project and experience managing projects under high time pressure
• Demonstrated knowledge of Statistical Quality Tools (e.g., MSA, Cpk, SPC, Sampling Plans, Control Plans)
• Ability to lead Corrective and Preventive Actions using systematic Root Cause Analysis
• Ability to interpret GD&T specifications to guide part measurement

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ CQE Certification
• Green Belt or Six Sigma Certification
• Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools
• Knowledge of Mold Flow Analysis, CAD, or 3D modeling software
• Experience with plastic injection molding
• Fluency in Chinese or Italian
