Quality Scientist I

Responsibilities

• Conduct vaccine safety and potency testing in animals according to written methods
• Provide animal care and husbandry in accordance with established guidelines
• Accurately record observations and test results
• Identify abnormal conditions in animals through keen observation and attention to detail
• Maintain adequate inventories of supplies and equipment
• Assist with facility care, cleaning, and maintenance
• Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient testing and high facility standards

Requirements

• 2 to 4 year degree in a science field preferred, or 0-3 years of relevant experience
• Experience in animal care and handling
• Knowledge of USDA, EU, and Animal Welfare Act guidelines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to lift and carry between 5 to 50 lbs frequently
• Ability to work scheduled 40 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
• Ability to wear a respirator and perform physical labor including bending, stooping, and kneeling
