Quality Inspector – SMT

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, mechanical, and functional inspection of electronic, electro-mechanical, and plastic/sheet metal components for conformance to customer specifications.
• Conduct visual aide inspection of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) using IPC-A-610 standards, BOMs, and written procedures.
• Operate 3D Automated Optical Inspection (3DAOI) machines and utilize tools such as multi-meters and calipers.
• Document quality results and perform real-time data entry into internal database systems and log books.
• Direct products for rework and confirm completion of corrective actions.
• Perform process audits, first article inspections, and customer quality assurance (CQA) inspections.
• Maintain ESD integrity within the production environment and ensure work area cleanliness.
• Work the 3rd shift schedule: Sunday – Thursday (11:00pm – 7:30am).

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in a related field (electronics focus preferred).
• 2+ years of inspection experience in a high-volume, contract-manufacturing environment.
• IPC-A-610 Certification.
• Proven experience inspecting PCB assemblies.
• Proficiency in interpreting detailed drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Experience using ERP systems and basic computer skills.
• Ability to use electro-mechanical tools including multi-meters and calipers.
• US Person status (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) for ITAR compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience operating 3D Automated Optical Inspection (3DAOI) equipment.
