Quality Inspector II

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical inspections for purchased parts, 3D-printed components, CNC-machined items, electro-mechanical components, and propulsion assemblies
• Execute precision inspections including receiving, in-process, and final assembly inspections
• Use hand measurement systems and CMM for inspection tasks
• Document non-conformance in internal ERP, MES, and issue tracking systems
• Collaborate with engineering and management to improve work instructions and identify critical inspection points
• Coordinate with Production personnel to prioritize workload and meet delivery milestones
• Embody a Built in Quality philosophy to prevent escapes to downstream customers

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance role within a mechanical manufacturing environment
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work the B shift (3:15PM - 1:45AM Monday – Thursday)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in space manufacturing in-process environments on engine builds
• Experience with precision measuring equipment such as comparator, romer arm, Keyence Vision System, and/or CMMs (PC-DMIS)
• Experience performing visual inspections using borescope
• Proficiency with hand measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and surface roughness measurement
• Inspection experience with aerospace components and assemblies
• Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
