Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction and process capability.
• Maintain and improve the AS9100 Quality Management System.
• Monitor product performance via operational metrics and initiate corrective action programs.
• Participate in internal audit programs and perform customer specification reviews.
• Act as a quality liaison for Customer Support, Operations, Technical Services, and Sales teams.
• Support Supplier Quality Engineering functions, including periodic audits of key suppliers.
• Support calibration and receiving inspection processes and teams.
• Actively participate in safety improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field of discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3-5 years of experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
• Proficiency using Six Sigma tools and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Experience with chemical and/or mechanical testing.
• Strong project management and technical problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.
• ASQ certification.
• Experience in aerospace chemicals, coatings, plastics, adhesives, or composites industries.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.
• Strong foundation in college-level algebra and statistics.
