Quality Engineer, Powertrain

Responsibilities

• Monitor drive unit quality performance metrics and identify emerging high-impact issues
• Drive timely root cause analysis and resolution using a data-driven approach
• Implement continuous improvement by driving lessons learned into relevant processes
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with company and industry quality standards
• Conduct process, product, and system audits to assess and qualify processes
• Establish and validate supplier processes including tool trials, gauge design, FAI, and PPAP
• Perform risk analysis and control plan documentation including FMEAs and inspection reports
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949
• Lead MRB meetings and act as a quality representative for the engineering change control board

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a similar technical field
• 3 to 7 years of experience in powertrain quality with manufacturing or supplier experience
• Strong understanding of mechanical components like forgings, castings, and sheet metal
• Knowledge of assembly processes such as welding, leak testing, and NVH Dyno testing
• Proficiency in quality core tools including APQP, SPC, PPAP, and FMEA
• Strong data analytics and data manipulation background
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of power electronics
• ASQ Certifications (CQE, CQA, CQM) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
